Morgan Freeman gets a good laugh out of rumors of his own demise.

The Oscar winner took to his Facebook page on Tuesday to make light of those pretty disgusting death hoaxes that have popped up with increasing frequency on social media and targeted him over the years, noting that if he is standing in front of the Pearly Gates, it looks an awful lot like present-day Earth.

"Like Mark Twain, I keep reading that I have died," wrote the 75-year-old Freeman. "I hope those stories are not true…but if they are, I'm happy to report that my afterlife seems identical to my life when I was alive."

The acting legend, who played God, by the way, in Bruce Almighty and Evan Almighty, noted that he's too booked up with work to think about meeting his Maker.

"I did go to Las Vegas to begin work on the film Last Vegas," he added. "That is anything but a death sentence."

That comedy sounds pretty lively indeed. It stars Freeman, Michael Douglas, Robert De Niro and Kevin Kline and follows four sixtysomething best friends who throw a bachelor party in Sin City for the last one of them to get hitched.  It hits theaters in December 2013, and as far as the thesp's concerned, he has every intention of being at the premiere.
