Just days after E! News exclusively reported the breakup, the Wizards of Waverly Place star stepped out for an appearance in White Plains, N.Y., to promote her Dream Out Loud collection at Kmart.
We all know that breakups are never easy, so we've got to hand it to Gomez for showing utmost professionalism and smiling happily for her supportive and stylish fans that came to snap photos and get their hands on the affordably priced goods.
As for the clothes? We had to see what all the fuss was about. The trend-driven junior's collection has a wide range of incredibly eclectic clothing, accessories and footwear that seem to reflect a curious blend of Selena's stage-ready bravado and bohemian street style at the moment. It's as if the collection had a few teenage mood swings itself!
From metallic lace miniskirts and flashy sequined scarves to wild multicolored faux leather handbags and a handful of plaid prairie-inspired offerings, we're confused by the creative direction of this whole fashion extravaganza. We also spied fur-trimmed booties, lace-trimmed corduroy shorts, studded denim vests and even a strapless full-length jumpsuit for the experimental Kmart shopper. It's a dizzying eyeful, to say the least!
And while we're conservatively staying far away from DOL's glittery mesh club wear, gold coated skinny jeans and cropped floral peasant blouses, we're curious to see how Selena fans will respond. After all, retail therapy is a common cure for the broken-hearted.
