Miley Cyrus totally wins "Throwback Wednesday,"  y'all! (When you're the Queen of Twerk, it goes without saying that you're allowed to #tbt a day early.)

The pop star tweeted a vintage shot of Britney Spears and Snoop Dogg looking very early-2000s-cool on a basketball court. The now oh-so-dated-seeming shot is from the set of Brit's music video for her 2004 hit "Outrageous."

Britney, now 31, was 22 years old, and Snoop, now 41, was 32 at this perfect genre-crossing moment in pop culture history. Things have, understandably, changed quite a bit in the past nine years. Brit no longer wears sideways trucker hats and mesh jerseys with pushup bras, and Snoop no longer appears to be a fan of the denim jorts/Capris look.  The rapper even technically changed his name to Snoop Lion since the time this pic was taken. (But since his handle is still Snoop Dogg on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, we're not calling him king of the jungle over canine just yet.)

It's refreshing to see that Miley, who was 11 back in 2004, is paying homage to the greatness that came before her. It's not the first time she's honored her predecessors, either:  Back in May, she tweeted a glorious throwback shot of Brit and then-boyfriend Justin Timberlake circa 2001 in all-denim, matching outfits with the words "Never Forget."

Fast forward to 2013, and Miley and Britney are BFFs! The Hannah Montana alum's upcoming album Bangerz might even feature a collaboration with Ms. Spears. A song purportedly featuring the pop princess pair leaked Wednesday (and has since been deleted).

For now though, Miley girl is hard at work in the studio. Pharrell posted a cute Instagram shot with "my little sis" on Wednesday, showing off the "We Can't Stop" singer's seemingly vintage Chanel jacket.

Swag is timeless.
