Louis Tomlinson sure didn't receive any celebrity treatment on the soccer field!

On Sunday, Sept. 9, the One Direction boy-bander played in a charity match at Glasgow's Celtic Park. But, to the horror of Directioners everywhere, pro footballer Gabriel Agbonlahor tackled Louis full force, knocking him roughly to the ground and causing him to vomit.

The 21-year-old singer then hobbled off to the bench, where he remained sidelined for the remainder of the game. Outraged 1D fans launched a Twitter attack against Gabriel, the Aston Villa player who injured Louis.

But Gabriel seemed remorseful. "It was one of those things," he said, per the BBC. "I'll apologise to Louis when we meet up…I know he enjoyed playing in the game and it's fantastic that he took time out to be here."

Fantastic, indeed, considering that proceeds from the game benefitted the cancer foundation founded by Stiliyan Petrov, a retired Aston Villa player now in remission from leukemia.

And Louis most certainly did his part to raise the profile of Sunday's game, which in and of itself is commendable! Plus, he'll get a chance to show off his soccer skills again soon. He recently signed as a non-contract player with his home team, the Doncaster Rovers, and will work with Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice while fulfilling what he called a "childhood dream."

Multitalented young man, that Louis is!
