"My baby love and I are ENGAGED!!! Hallelujah Hawaii !!!!!" Ashlee tweeted on Monday, Jan. 13.
But just who is the handsome 25-year-old who will soon be Jessica Simpson's brother-in-law? Here are five things you need to know about him.
1. His Mother Is Diana Ross: Not only is he the son of the legendary singer, but Diana has already spent a fair amount of quality time with the couple. Last August, Evan took Ashlee to his mother's concert at the Hollywood Bowl and, in November, she was at Bronx's birthday when Ashlee's little one turned 5.
2. Speaking of Bronx... Evan has gotten to know Ashlee's son (with ex-husband Pete Wentz) very well during the couple's courtship. The three have been spotted shopping at Target, walking hand in hand in hand in Venice, Calif., as well as celebrating the recent holidays together.
3. He's Been Linked in the Past to Other Famous Faces: Among the women Evan is rumored to have previously romanced are Lindsay Lohan, Aubrey O'Day and Hayden Panettiere.
4. Like Mother, Like Son: In 2007, Evan began recording his debut album and, in 2011, released his first single, "Yes Me."
5. He's Playing Messalla in Mockingjay Part 1 and Part 2: While Evan has been steadily acting since 1999, his role in the Hunger Games franchise will no doubt be his highest-profile role yet. "It's mind-blowing," Ross told E! News soon after nabbing the part. "When they called I was like, 'Are you kidding?' They said, 'You got Hunger Games. You want to do it?'" I was like, 'Is that a question?'"
