You'll Never Believe What This Starbucks Customer Found in Her Coffee

A teacher in Louisiana found Satanic symbols drawn in her coffee foam

This story is actually very apropos, as we are the equivalent of Satan's minions before we drink our coffee in the morning. Seriously, it we haven't had a sip of glorious caffeine and you talk to us in the elevator, you are getting a roundhouse kick directly to the neck.

But we digress. A teacher in Louisiana got an apology from Starbucks when she ordered two beverages and received an interesting (to say the least) design in the foam of her coffee. Anyone who has ever been on Pinterest has seen those funky photos of coffee foam manipulated to look like a heart, a leaf, a penis and what have you. But when Megan Pinion looked down into her coffee foam, she got a drizzled nightmare.

As you can see in the above photo, Megan's coffee came complete with a caramel design of the number 666 and a pentagram, which are both well-known Satanic symbols.

Obviously, this did not sit well with her. She wrote on Starbucks Facebook page about the surprise topping:

"I just purchased two coffees at your Mall of Louisiana location. This is how my coffee was served to me. I unfortunately can't give the young mans name who served it because I was so appalled that I could not bring myself to look at him. The star is almost okay because it is in your Starbucks logo, the 666, however was quite offensive. I am in no way judging his beliefs or dis-meriting his beautiful artwork, I am however judging his lack of professionalism and respect for others. I am a teacher in the public school system and if I were to present a child of atheist or pagan believers with a Christian art project I could be sued in a heartbeat. I am of Catholic faith and would love to share in my beliefs daily. Fortunately I have enough common sense to present myself with professionalism and follow an ethics code. Perhaps that could be suggested to that particular location."

Surprisingly, this is the calmest and most rational reaction to Satanic Starbucks symbols we could have hoped for. We assume that a patron getting their order like that would throw the coffee back in the baristas face and/or immediately start the hashtag #CancelStarbucks. However, Megan was calm and reasonable with her complaint, and Starbucks responded in kind.

"We reached out to her through social media and apologized," company spokesman Tom Kuhn told the site The Raw Story. "We're taking the complaint seriously. We're not sure who served her or what kind of beverage it was."

We're thinking that this was just a dumb prank pulled by a bored barista, and a tasteless one at that. Kuhn even mentioned that this joke could affect foam designs in the future.

But whatever will we Instagram now? Our pets? You got it! Forty-nine photos of our cats coming your way!
