Kate Middleton's style may be highly revered, but apparently Prince William isn't the biggest fan of some of her latest outfits.

While the couple was on hand for a meet-and-greet in their namesake town of Cambridge in New Zealand, a local woman revealed the duchess's emerald green Erdem coat didn't sit too well with Prince George's father.

Bev Hayes told reporters, "I complimented her on her green coat. She said she liked it but Prince William thought it was a bit bright."

Clearly her husband's opinion didn't sway her from wearing the jewel-toned wool overcoat from the fashion house's pre-fall 2013 collection.

Middleton paired the outfit with black suede pumps from Episode and one of her signature (and enviable) blowouts.

And it looks like Prince William isn't the only one who has criticized the brunette beauty's style lately.

Back in February, reports were swirling that Queen Elizabeth II had requested Middleton wear longer hemlines during her tour Down Under.

The Mail on Sunday claimed that the queen had reviewed (and revised) Middleton's wardrobe for the official royal visit and had implemented a "subtle but significant regal makeover."

The paper added that Middleton was "encouraged to wear the tiaras favored by the Queen and Queen Mother," and "statement jewelry and gemstones from the Queen's personal collection" in an effort to make her "more royal than ever."

Pish posh! We think Middleton's got plenty of innate style regardless!
