Frank Micelotta/Getty ImagesJust weeks after the 20th anniversary of Kurt Cobain's death, the Seattle Police Department has released a note found at the scene where the Nirvana singer's body was discovered.
The note, obtained by CBS News, was taken from Cobain's wallet when he was found dead in his Seattle home on April 8, 1994.
In the undated missive, the late artist takes aim at wife Courtney Love by way of a mock wedding vow.
"Do you Kurt Cobain take Courtney Michelle Love to be your lawful shredded wife," he wrote. "Even when she's a bitch with zits and siphoning all (your) money for doping and whoring..."
The note, which was logged into evidence, has never been made public until now.
Last month, the Seattle Police Department also released 35 never-before-seen photos from the investigation as part of its reexamining of the case.
As to why the police decided to release the pictures, veteran homicide detective Mike Ciesynski explained that authorities simply wanted to put an end to the persistent speculation behind Cobain's death.
"I thought it would be a good idea to take a look at that [undeveloped film] because there were some conspiracy theories that...we [the Seattle Police Department] were hiding the film," he told CBS News.
Cobain was found dead with a gunshot wound to his head, and his death was ruled a suicide. According to the coroner's report, he had also injected a lethal dose of heroin beforehand.
