Everyone on The Vampire Diaries should know by now that they should all just stay safely at home instead of going to school events.

Whether it's a Decade Dance at the high school, a football game or a Mystic Falls town gathering, things tend to get pretty bloody for all involved.

But looks like our favorite vamps, witches, werewolves and humans have not gotten the memo, since they're all headed to Whitmore's Homecoming in an upcoming episode, and we've got your exclusive first look at the "devastating accident" that leaves more than a few of TVD's finest in peril!

Check out the exclusive photo above from Thursday, Oct. 30th's episode, titled "The World Has Turned and Left Me Here."

Why are Alaric (Matt Davis) and his new love interest Jo (Jodi Lyn O'Keefe) laying bloody in a creepy corn maze?! After the new Original vampire takes Elena's advice to be "more social"—which is fantastic advice to heed when you look like Davis does!—Alaric attends a party at Whitmore Homecoming's corn maze, but something forces him and the hot doc "rushing to save lives." Let's hope he's learned to curb his blood lust, because otherwise he's going to hurt students more than he can help!

Also in the episode, Elena (Nina Dobrev) invites her new friend Liam (Marco James) to attend the corn maze party with her...but is that just as friends, or something more? Thanks to Alaric erasing her memories of loving Damon (Ian Somerhalder), she could be moving on guilt-free! Excuse us while we pick our Delena-loving heart off the floor, since TVD already threw it there!

And in more Homecoming disaster news, Tyler (Michael Trevino) is going to find himself in a "dangerous position when his werewolf curse is put to the test." Is he going to accidentally kill someone again?! Seriously, all school events should just be banned at this point.

The Vampire Diaries airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. on the CW.
