Angelina Jolie was itchin' to promote her upcoming movie, but now, well, she's just itchin'.

Universal Studios Entertainment released a video of the A-lister regrettably informing fans that she will not be able to attend the premieres for her film Unbroken in the next few days because she—wait for it—has chickenpox!

Wearing a white tank with visible red dots all over her body, Angie, who directed the film, tells the camera, "I just wanted to be clear and honest about why I will be missing the Unbroken events in the next few days, which is that I found out last night that I have chickenpox."

She continues, "So, I will be home itching and missing everyone, and I can't believe it, because this film means so much to me. I just can't believe it. But such is life, there it is. And send everyone my love, and hope everything goes well."

Along with the video, the studio posted on its Facebook page that her hubby, Brad Pitt, will attend on her behalf. "Monday night, her children and Brad will attend to represent her. Brad's family has flown in for the occasion, and are all looking forward to seeing the film."

"You have to laugh at the timing," Jolie commented, according to the studio's post. "I was sure nothing could stop me from supporting Unbroken. I am heartbroken to miss our premiere, most of all the chance to be there with Louie's family, Phil's daughter Karen, veterans and all the guests who are coming."

Meanwhile, Universal Pictures says, "We all wish Angelina a speedy recovery and look forward to her returning to her work very soon. She is in very good spirits, considering after two years of hard work, she will not be there the night it finally premieres."

There's no word on how Angelina got the chickenpox, but it's most contagious one to two days before the rash appears, so anyone who has had contact with Jolie earlier this week—hi, Amy Pascal!—may have caught it, too. (Now, wouldn't that be somethin'?)

(E! and Universal Pictures are both part of the NBCUniversal family.)
