For Jennie Garth, it's been a time of turbulence and transition.

The erstwhile 90210 star has been living under a harsh spotlight since she and Peter Facinelli announced earlier this month that they were splitting after 11 years of marriage.

As if that weren't enough, she also uprooted her three daughters and moved to the California countryside, in the hopes of simplifying and rebooting their hectic lives.

And what a reboot it is. Garth is now speaking out about her life with Facinelli, providing revealing glimpses into why it might have crumbled…

In an interview with People, Garth says that distance may have played hand in the demise of her marriage.

"He would do everything he could to fly back every weekend," says Garth. "[But] it took a real toll on our marriage."

According to Garth, Facinelli's booming career, which includes a key role in the massive Twilight saga, kept the couple apart. Often, he'd be forced to jet between California's Santa Ynez Valley, where she and their daughters—Luca, 14, Lola, 9, and Fiona Eve, 5—now live, and Vancouver or New York, where he would often be shooting.

She couldn't, however, wrap her head around the idea of a divorce when he brought it up last fall.

"I was very resistant," she says. "I didn't want it to happen. It took me some time to come to peace with it."

She says she's in a better place now, admitting, "I'm okay. I don't know what the future holds, but then I've never been a planner. And maybe that's a good thing."

Looks like her future includes a role as a cowpoke mama: Garth's new series, Jennie Garth: Little Bit Country, debuts on CMT next month and chronicles her new life on her California ranch, which includes its fair share of livestock.

But judging by a subtle dig she took at Facinelli in a sneak peek of the show, she might still be coming to peace with things.
