We know there isn't a lot she can do with her short hair, but we're frankly bored with this Hilary Clinton circa '94 coif. Not only is it matronly and dated, but it kind of made the Oscar nominee's forehead look a lot bigger than it is. We also weren't crazy about her black lined eyes, which made them appear small.
The actress clearly didn't read our post from Friday, warning her to stay away from the hair helmet. We liked the sleek shape of the updo, but silver bullets wouldn't have been able to penetrate that armor of hair.
We'll be honest: we wanted to skip Anne, but since she won an Oscar last year, we felt obligated to include her.Come on, could this look be any more boring? What can we say? Nice everyday makeup? Your hair looks exactly the same as last year? We're tapped out.
We love that the young starlet rocked a classic red lip and black lined kitten eyes. But we thought her textured hair was having a bit of an identity crisis. Was it an updo? Half-up/half-down? A deconstructed ponytail? We'll never know its true intention.
Anna's hair appeared as though she was going for a mother-of-the-bride look. Sorry, but there's no excuse for a 28-year-old to wear her hair in such a matronly ‘do. But we loved her makeup: cool grey eye shadow and black liquid eyeliner made her blue eyes sparkle. And Anna's fun matte coral lip was the only indicator that she knows she is under the age of 30.
The pregnant stunner was retro-fabulous last night with her dramatic winged eye and beehive updo. Even though we're usually nude lip haters, this matte peachy nude lipstick totally worked with the mod eye makeup.
We hate to say it, but we kind of thought that Mrs. Timberlake's hair looked a bit greasy and lifeless. Just like almost everyone else, she went for the simple eye makeup and pale pink lipstick. This look needed something big, like a modern updo or bright statement lip to make an impression.
Meow. Kate was definitely one of our top picks of the night -- that glowing skin, those smoldering eyes and old Hollywood glam waves -- LOVE. But someone needs to have an intervention with Kate about her choice of nude lip glosses as of late. They completely make her already-thin lips practically disappear off her face.
Though we barely recognized her, the Wolf of Wall Street starlet was breathtaking last night with her new chestnut brown hair. We loved the Australian actress's perfectly sculpted cascading waves, and we're dying to know what her stylist used to make her hair so shiny.
The Oscar nominee definitely had one of the best looks of the night. She wasn't going to let the wet weather affect a hair on her beautiful head. The Old Hollywood waves pulled to one side looked sleek and glamorous, and we're dying to know which products her stylist used since Sandy's tresses were 100% frizz-free. And we were all about her glitter plum shadow paired with navy eyeliner. We can't wait to try that combination for our next big event!
The August: Osage County star showed off her new blond locks last night. While we think the new hue is totally becoming on the brown-eyed beauty, we wish she had chosen a more flattering hairstyle to show it off. The side-swept updo was just okay. We would have put Julia in a voluminous updo or cascading Old Hollywood waves.
We hate to point fingers and maybe we're wrong, but judging by Jada's face last night, we're afraid there isn't a drop of Botox left in LA. There, we said it.
What a shock…Kerry Washington was one of our favorite looks from last night. We swear we're not biased – the Scandal star just happens to look beyond amazing at every red carpet event. Last night was no different: her voluminous goddess tresses took our "best hair of the night" award and her charcoal-lined eyes and raisin-hued lip were perfection.
Cate just exudes "classic movie star." The Oscar winner brought new meaning to Old Hollywood glam with sculpted waves and subtle makeup. And that skin!!! Every time we saw her on camera we paused and rewinded so we could get a better look at her ethereal skin.
Of all the shorthaired beauties on the red carpet last night, we liked Charlize's sleek styling the best. It's tough for short hair to look sexy, but leave it to the statuesque blonde to pull this off. We also loved Charlize's finely defined kitten eyes and light eye shadow, which make her blue eyes sparkle. We don't want to ruin the love fest, but this look was screaming for a classic red lip.
This is how an actress should look on the Oscars red carpet: elegant, glamorous and memorable. How much did we love her elongated feline-lined eyes? Pairing liquid black eyeliner with bronzy eye shadow was pure genius on this brown-eyed beauty. And we thought Penelope's high chignon was the perfect choice to complement the retro eye makeup.
We weren't thrilled with Naomi's trapped-in-the-‘90s, "I just teased and sprayed my bangs away from my forehead" pouf that reminded us of the times spent getting Orange Julius at the mall in high school. But we quickly forgave her because of that flawless skin and glossy red statement lip.Thank you, Naomi, for not following the nude lip pack!!
As pretty as she is, we're not going to lie: we were a bit disappointed with the Dallas Buyer's Club star's blah hair and makeup. We personally would have put the queen of cheekbones in a high chignon to show off her best features. And the barely-there makeup could have really used a statement lip. A frosty pink lipstick wasn't the statement we were looking for.
What was up with the Oscar nominee's rogue bangs? We wanted to storm the red carpet with some scissors and cut that extra-long piece that dangled between her eyes. We were so distracted by the bad bangs and frizz factor we didn't even notice the Blue Jasmine star's makeup (In our defense, how could we? Her bangs blocked the view.)
It's official: Angelina has super powers. How else could the breathtaking star's blowout have stayed so smooth and perfect in the rainy weather? And those soft brown smoky eyes! Perfection! We will give Angie a pass for the nude pink gloss just this once since she is wearing a smoky eye.
We know Gaga is known for being over-the-top, but the Oscars aren't the MTV Music Awards. Even Gaga needs to show some restraint. She had more shimmer and sparkle on her face than the dance floor of a strip club. And what's up with the visible wig line? That straw-like wig looked like it came straight out of a Halloween store.
We think Lupita is going to be the Audrey Hepburn of our generation: pure grace and beauty. The Oscar winner's makeup was subtle and ultra-feminine with kitten-lined eyes, glowing cheeks, and creamy pink lips. The highlight of Lupita's look was the jeweled headband holding back her tight curls. Something tells us that hair accessory companies everywhere are rushing to come out with knock-offs of the Twelve Years a Slave star's headband ASAP.
